Benefits of Injectable Toxins for Wrinkles/Lines

Natural-Looking Results

When performed by skilled professionals, these treatments provide subtle and natural-looking results. You can achieve a refreshed appearance without the risk of an overly altered or “frozen” look.

Minimal Downtime

Injectable treatments offer a significant advantage with their minimal recovery time. Most individuals can quickly resume their daily activities, making it a practical choice for busy lifestyles.

Smooths Wrinkles and Fine Lines

These treatments effectively reduce dynamic wrinkles around the forehead, eyes, and between the brows by targeting the muscles responsible for their formation, resulting in a smoother, more youthful look.

Prevents Future Wrinkles

Regular use of injectable treatments can help prevent new wrinkles from forming by minimizing repetitive muscle movements that lead to their development. This proactive approach helps maintain a youthful appearance over time.

Customizable Treatment

Treatments can be tailored to meet your specific needs and aesthetic goals. Our skilled practitioners can adjust the injections to address the unique contours of your face and your desired outcome.

FAQs
What are injectable toxins?
Injectable toxins, such as Botox®, Jeuveau®, and Xeomin® are approved neurotoxins that block nerve signals to the muscles, temporarily preventing them from contracting (tensing up).
How long do injectable toxins last?
To maintain results, treatments should be repeated approximately every 3 months. Consistently repeated treatments may also prolong the effects of the toxin. Occasionally, clients might observe that a particular toxin isn’t as effective as it once was for them. This may occur if only one specific product has been used repeatedly. If you notice this happening, it’s a great opportunity to switch things up and try one of our other products. This often helps resolve the issue and restores effectiveness.
Will I see results right away?
Some may see results in as little as 2-3 days, with most clients noticing effects around the fourth day. However, full results may not be seen until 14 days.
Is it safe??

YES! Of course, as with any medication or procedure, there are inherent risks, but injectable toxins have been rigorously tested and tried and have been proven to be a very safe and effective method to give a more youthful, refreshed look.

Most side effects are mild and usually improve in a day or two. These may include bruising and mild swelling, bleeding, and pain at the injection sites. Other side effects may include temporary ptosis (drooping eyelids), and headache or flu-like symptoms.

Who should NOT get toxin injections?

There are some clients who are not eligible for neurotoxin injections: these include anyone under 18 years old, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or those who have:

  • Neuromuscular disease
  • Ptosis (drooping eyelids)
  • Hypersensitivity to the product(s)
  • Allergies to eggs, egg products, or albumin
  • Significant autoimmune or neurological diseases
  • Recent use other neuromuscular blocking agents
What to know before treatment
  • Avoid alcohol and caffeine, and blood thinning products and medications, such as Ibuprofen/Motrin, Aspirin, Advil/Aleve, preferably for 72 hours prior to your injection appointment, as these products can increase bruising.
  • Please receive approval from your primary care provider (PCP) to stop any prescribed medications, if needed, prior to treatment.
  • Supplements beginning with “g”: Ginger, Gingko, Garlic, as well as Vitamins E and A, St. John’s Wort, Fish Oil should also be avoided for 72 hours as these can thin the blood.
  • If desired, you may start Arnica tabs or cream/gel 3 days prior to treatment and continue for 3-5 days after injections (this may help minimize bruising).
  • If you are sick, or have any infections, skin rash/sores, or active acne (within the area to be treated), please wait to schedule or reschedule your aesthetic appointment.
  • You must not be taking antibiotics within 7 days of treatment
  • It’s generally a good idea not to plan any major/important events for
1-week post-injection (just in case you bruise).
What to expect

Prior to any treatment, an annual Good Faith Evaluation (GFE)* will be virtually performed with a medical provider to ensure safety and eligibility. Your nurse will then discuss your desires and realistic expectations and formulate a plan to best produce those results.

The treatment area will be thoroughly cleansed and sanitized, and a “before” picture will be taken. The nurse will then “map out” the treatment area(s) and prepare the injection.

A thin needle will be used to inject tiny amounts of toxin into your skin or muscles. The number of shots needed varies and depends on the size of the treatment area and personal preferences.

If possible, let your injection day be a rest day. Click here to view general information and pre-/post-care instructions that should be followed. (En Español)

What is a GFE and why do I need it?

Safety is our HIGHEST priority and performing a Good Faith Evaluation (GFE) is BEST PRACTICE in the industry.

A GFE is important before receiving treatments like dermal fillers/toxin, weight loss injections, or IV therapies for several reasons:

The GFE allows a licensed medical professional to assess your overall health, medical history, and any potential contraindications that might make the treatment unsafe.

For example, certain medications, underlying health conditions, or allergies could pose risks during procedures. By conducting a GFE, the provider ensures that treatment is both appropriate and safe.

Also, in many states, healthcare laws require a GFE before medical treatments, particularly those involving injections. The evaluation helps providers comply with regulations and protects both the client and the provider legally.

The GFE is conducted annually, or more frequently if medically necessary, and applies to all services offered. Each evaluation incurs an additional fee of $35.

In summary, the GFE is a critical step that ensures treatments are performed safely, ethically, and effectively while complying with legal standards, providing the best possible outcome for our clients.
